Great Steak! Great Deal!
Nothing beats a great steak! OK... Nothing beats a great steak and a real cold beer! The beer is the easy part. I can show you how with a little prep time and a few simple tips you can take a good cut of meat and make it into a GREAT STEAK!
Here are a few of those tips...
- Select good cuts of meat. (remember you get what you pay for)
- Select well marbled meats.
- Seal your steaks and age them a few days in the fridge. (check out recipes below)
- Sear on high heat to seal in juices, then lower heat to finish cooking.
- Do not overcook, even if you like your steak well done. there is still too done!
- Never poke your steaks with a fork to turn them (use tongs) and never cut the steak open to see how done it is. (this just lets all the juices to run out and makes for a dry steak)
A great steak needs very little seasoning. (just a little salt & pepper and a pat of butter when done)
In short... if you prep your steaks and properly cook them they will be so good that you should be able to talk your friends in to buying the meat if you agree to cook it. Now thats a GREAT DEAL!
