BEER!
ENOUGH SAID!
Actually, For a good BBQ or cookout plenty of beer should be enough along with water and soft drinks. But, depending on your guest list or party theme other libations might be necessary. Having bartended for many years, I have learned that having a good list of recipes for the most popular and time tested drinks can come in very handy.
A couple of tips are...
1. Try not to be too fancy, simple recipes with good ingredients are best.
2. Use good liquors and cordials, top shelf is not always the best choice. Choose using a balance between quality and price.
3. Have the correct utensils and glassware available to produce the best results.
4. Use fresh ingredients. Buy mixers such as tonic water or pineapple juice in the small cans or bottles. Nothing worse than flat tonic or soda.
5. More alcohol does not mean a better drink. Stick to the recipes, a heavy hand can ruin a great party.
6. Moderation is key, Safety is crucial!!! Use designated drivers or arrange for places for people to crash at your place if they overindulge. It is your party be responsible and take charge.
