A Garbage plate is the equivilant to an appetizer sampler plate. My Uncle Robert would come in to the family resturant order a cold beer and ask my mother to make him a Garbage Plate. Which basically consisted of everything in the kitchen that qualified as finger food. this would include everything from chunk cheese, raw veggies, hot peppers even pickled eggs and pretzles. What ever was available that day. I now make my own versions (different every time) for my favorite snacks. My family loves it too! So on your next movie night make popcorn and a Giant Garbage Plate.
Every party needs an abundance of finger foods to keep people busy until everyone arrives and the main dishes are done. I like to sample every cheese plate, veggie tray and appetizer that is brought to a party.
