Let's Just Call it 7 Layer Dip
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 can refried beans (16 oz)
2 envelopes taco seasoning mix
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup thick & chunky salsa
1 cup sour cream
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup sliced green onions
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
1/2 cup banana pepper rings
1/4 cup sliced black olives
Plenty of tortilla chips
Choose a clear glass dish with fairly straight sides. This dish looks way more impressive in this style serving dish. I picked up the perfect dish at Walmart for under 5 bucks.

Prepare taco meat according to seasoning directions. Using 1-1/2 packages of mix for meat and reserving the other 1/2 package for the bean mixture. Allow meat to cool before layering dip. add remaining taco seasoning to beans and mix thoroughly. Spread bean mixture in bottom of serving dish. Then layer the remaining ingredients in this order... 1/3 cup of green onions, 1 cup cheddar cheese, salsa, taco meat, 1/3 cup of green onions, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, 1/3 cup of green onions, sprinkle top with black olives and banana pepper rings.

Serve with tortilla chips. You can vary the heat level by adding red pepper sauce or cayenne pepper to the bean and / or meat mixture, going for hot salsa instead of mild or adding an additional layer of hot pepper rings or sliced jalapenos.  ENJOY!
