Wash, peel, and dice potatoes into 1 inch cubes. Boil potatoes until just done, not falling apart. Drain and place in greased 2 quart baking dish. In a suce pan melt 6 tablespoons of butter then add 6 tablespoons of flour. Gradually add in cream. Heat to boiling stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes. Top with cheese. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and stir in bread crumbs stirring until coated. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake until cheese melts and casserole is bubbly. Usually about 20-30 minutes.
